Why Dalhousie?
Dalhousie is a picturesque hill station in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, spread across five hills near the western Dhauladhar range. Established as a summer retreat in the 19th century, it is known for its colonial-era architecture, pine and deodar forests, mountain trails, churches and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and snow-covered peaks. What makes Dalhousie special
Dalhousie combines Himalayan scenery with colonial heritage. Visitors can walk through forested roads, explore historic churches, shop around the town's market areas, visit waterfalls and springs, or use Dalhousie as a base for excursions to Khajjiar, Kalatop and Chamba.
The town also has a connection with Subhas Chandra Bose, who stayed in Dalhousie in 1937; Subhash Baoli and Subhash Chowk commemorate his association with the area. Himachal Tourism
